Introduction: Bevel Law is a virtual, boutique law firm specializing in business and intellectual property law. We specialize in serving small businesses and entrepreneurs and pride ourselves on delivering top notch, high quality service. Our clients come first and we work to give small businesses a big voice.

 

Position: Bevel Law is seeking an attorney to assist with both business and intellectual property law matters. This is a temporary (contract) position.

Required Hard Skills:

  • Business contract drafting (operating agreements, master services agreements, independent contractor agreements, partnership agreements, etc.)

  • LLC and C-Corporation formation

  • Trademark clearance searches, application prosecution, office actions, and licensing

  • Copyright application prosecution and licensing

 

Required Soft Skills:​

  • You love helping small businesses and entrepreneurs.

  • You do not make assumptions and you do not make up answers. You are comfortable saying "I don't know right now, but let me get back to you on that".

  • You are very detail oriented. Typos run from you in fear.

  • You enjoy learning new things and are not discouraged when faced with a learning curve.

  • You take initiative to anticipate what a client will need and raise issues before they happen.

  • You are able to manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines at once. You are organized and and in command of your to-do list.

  • You stay on top of your email and are able to effectively communicate via email.

  • You are prompt and always on time. You know how to set realistic deadlines and you always deliver when you say you are going to.

  • You are trustworthy and discreet. You understand the value of confidentiality and take careful precautions to protect client information.​

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school

  • Licensed to practice in Virginia

  • Malpractice insurance

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

Contract Pay Rate

  • $60 - 80/hour

​

Estimated Monthly Hours:

  • 6 to 10 hours each month
